April Showers Bring May Flowers

Here in San Francisco it's been raining and dreary all week.  The sun should be coming out this weekend, but till then, since we have our umbrellas out, it might be a good time to think about a place to store them.

If the rain is still giving you the blues, consider the Z Gallerie riding umbrella stand.  Made of terracotta, it's really (really) heavy, but it's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

Crate and Barrel's Galang Floor Vase-Umbrella Stand - double duty, coiled rattan with a tonal brown finish shapes up in oversized taper for tall dried botanicals or umbrella storage. Aluminum insert rests in the base to catch drips from wet umbrellas.

Zack is a brand synonymous with exclusive, stainless steel living accessories.  Imported from Germany, each item is precisely crafted and beautifully finished to bring that special touch to your home.  We love the ZACK 50525 VANDERA umbrella stand. Metro and modern (available on Amazon.com)

The Polder slimline stand neatly holds up to 5 umbrellas.  The 5 lb. cast iron base keeps umbrellas upright, won't topple over and collects water run-off to help keep floors dry (available at the Container Store)

And finally, if you like owls, the owl umbrella stand from Burke Decor is a must.   In ceramic, this charming piece is a great accent in the entry foyer or corner of living room:
